Clocking In/Out

With the TimeTablet it's very simple. Just tap the employee's smart-chipped ID card to the left hand side of the device. The device will autmatically start or stop work for that employee and display a message to confirm.

In most cases the information is made available online through the TIMEDOCK web portal within a few seconds. In the case of an internet outage the device will wait and try again when the connection is up again.

Frequently asked questions

Can we use our existing security/access cards?

It's unlikely you'll be able to use the same NFC badges between your TimeDock and Security or Access Control systems.

Security and access control cards tend to use a higher-spec RFID or NFC format. In contrast, we've elected to use an ISO standard that's smaller, faster and less expensive for versatility with mobile devices.

Some customers have succeeded with special shielded and durable NFC stickers adhered to the side of their access control cards. We recommend testing first by sending us one of your cards & the on-metal stickers you intend to use, as the two could potentially interfere with each other on our devices, and with your security system as well.

The NFC type we support is Ntag213. They'll need a specific data configuration before you program them with your TimeDock device, or you can use many Android phones with our mobile app.

Can people clock in on one device and out on another?

Yes they can. If your devices are all actively connected to the internet, they'll synchronise so that they automatically clock someone out if they're already clocked in (even from another device). Or alternatively, if they accidentally clocked in a second time, they can tap their badge again to clock out. Your TimeDock dashboard will recognise all IN and OUT entries from all devices and calculate timesheets accordingly.
